A fragment of my master's degree project: a set of small etchings built on ideas out of topology - how a space can bend and stretch and still be the same space. The trouble with a subject like that is it wants to turn into a diagram, and a diagram is not an image. So I went small on purpose: at that scale there is nowhere to hide, and every line and every tone has to be settled before you start. Etching gave me the line, aquatint the tonal range.
